Dressing Code for Interviews: Women

Job.

if you really want to dress to impress it better be for a job interview. because that is what you will most likely need: a job. So before you go ahead and outdo yourself make sure you follow some basic ground rules on dressing properly for the interview.
Make Up – Put on very light make up. Piling up make up in your face does not make you look any smarter and the interviewer is usually looking for someone who can do the job rather than being a pretty face behind a desk. Mascara and a very discrete lipstick (something that is similar in color to your lips) could be just fine.

Hair - depending whether you have short or long hair, keeping it away from your face is very important. If you have short hair, make sure you style without trying to make a fashion statement and with minimal hair spray or gel. If you have long hair, the best option is to tie it in a ponytail. When your hair is off of your face, it is easier for you to just focus on the interview rather than talking and putting the hair away from your face. Also, if it happens to be a lunch interview, you will avoid any slight chances of having your hair fall all over.
Clothes - clothing comes with the job position. If you are interviewing for a job position that is in the rank of internships, you do not necessarily have to wear a suit. There are a lot of other options that you combine of formal clothing. However if you are applying for a higher job position, a suit is your best bet. Avoid flashy or vibrant (in color) suits as they can be distracting and send the wrong message to the interviewer. Make sure your clothes are not too tight so that you can sit comfortably and be able to move around without a problem.
Jewelry - go easy on the jewelry. Do not wear any necklaces or bracelets that make a sound, are too sparkly or that are over-sized.
