Four Hour Work Week – Reality or Just a Dream?
Four Hour Work Week – Reality or Just a Dream? This is a question often asked, rarely answered fully and often leaves the questioner with even more questions.
In this brief article we’re going to demystify the myth and provide you with REAL answers that you can implement in your life today!
Four Hour Work Week – Reality or Just a Dream?
Before we get into the real nitty-gritty behind the 4 hour work week concept, let us consider the WHY’s behind this and then move onto the HOW’s.
Lets face it time is precious as we only have a finite amount allocated to us during our lifetime and we never know just when that time is going to run out.
It’s not as if we can tip up an hour-glass or set the countdown on the most accurate of time pieces. The fact is WE NEVER KNOW just when our time on this amazing planet will come to an end.
TIME IS PRECIOUS and we should capitalise on the very small amount we have the best way possible.
This is not a review of Tim Ferriss (Timothy Ferriss) The 4-Hour Work Week, instead this is to clarify and provide the various options available to us to “capitalise” on the fixed amount of time we have available each day and how we can remove the “time leeches” that lock on to us and drain both our time and energy.
Our daily time is typically broken down into the following:
- Work
- Family
- Rest
- Sleep
WORK
That 4 letter word means many different things to many people. Some people LOVE work as it allows them the vehicle to express their talents and creativity and receive payment in return for something they love doing!
For others, its viewed as a necessary evil, drudgery, working for the MAN, even selling their soul to the devil… YES a LOT of people actually “hate” work and they do all that they can to either avoid it of to shut up, put up and grim and bare it!
FAMILY
I don’t know your personal views; however, for many, me included, family time is precious and it is actually the REAL reason why we work… to provide the income and lifestyle that will help us to enjoy this precious time with our family and loved ones. More on this later.
REST
An important area that MANY people overlook and do not utilise correctly, strangely enough often those who dislike their work find this element of their life the most difficult to control and master.
Rest is important to our well being and comes in many various forms, for some it is that quick cat-nap, for others it is reading a book, a hot bath, a walk along a beach, playing sports, fishing a trout river, hypnosis, meditation… whatever the method REST is a MUST for anyone looking to achieve the REAL four hour work week (we’ll also cover this in more detail later).
