Get Through Your Day at Work
Some tips on getting through your workday.
If you are like me, you just want to go to work and clock out. You don’t need the hassles and the drama. You don’t want to upset anyone nor do you want to have a bad day. Doesn’t it seem that some people come to work to complain? To help you get through your day, don’t entertain complaining people. If they come around you complaining, act really busy, or tell them you have no comment. They will probably get frustrated but, hey, then they will leave. You see, if you allow others to always complain to you, you will begin to see your job as a burden instead of a vehicle to pay your bills. You will become the complainer. Next, just work. Don’t get caught up in the “he say, she say” of the office. Just do your job. Be known as the person who does not participate in such gossip. You will be surprised how many people will stop coming to you, if you stop entertaining them.
Number three: Have a plan B. Everyone can have a hobby. That hobby can be for fun, or it can make you money. It is up to you. If you have a plan B, like college, starting a business, or investments, you will not feel like you are trapped in this job you are in. Don’t make your life about your job. Make your job revolve around your life.
Lastly, don’t expect what you can’t get. Just go to work expecting what you agreed to, a paycheck, benefits, and accrued time off. Don’t be a person who comes to work to socialize. You will open up a door of drama and problems. Your job is just that Your job. Do only what you get paid for, so to speak. Go to work to do that, work. You can socialize after work.
