Hard Times in the Working World

A glimpse into the life of a minimum wage movie theater worker.

As we all know, the economy is currently in a dreadful state. Unemployment rates are sky high, and it just keeps rising. For those fortunate enough to have a job, there is still the thought of a lot of hard work for very little money. The worst part of it all is the fact that you know, even with your lame job, that there are still people less fortunate. There are still people who would love to have your minimum wage, dead-end job.

Minimum wage jobs are considered some of the worst jobs imagineable. Well, that is true in some cases. Working at a movie theater is one of these cases. It is a job of long hours for very little pay. Your job is not respected by most, and people blame you for everything that goes wrong while they are at the theater. They break something, it is your fault.  It rains, while their convertible top is down, it is your fault. Not sure how, but it is. Your weekends slowly disappear. You go from working 20 hours in one weekend to 40 hours a weekend. You get to leave work just in time to sleep for 4 hours to then go back to work. People look at you with pity while you work. You clean up before and after them. The repetitiveness of the job gets rediculous. It is basically a daily deja vu that never ends. After a while it gets you in your sleep. You start having nightmares about work, but hey it is a job, and I am thankful to have it.( Even if it is that bad.)

Always be thankful for your job, becuase some people would kill for it, and yes it may be a horrible job, but it will have its brighter days.
