How to Become a Filmmaker–with digital filmmaking resources.

With digital filmmaking software and the many online websites where you can upload your movies, almost anybody can become a filmmaker.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you’ll become another Steven Spielberg or Ron Howard, nevertheless many home-made movies can be as good as the pros.

Digital filmmaking software also gives you the opportunity to hone your talents in filmmaking, to help to hone the talents of others, including your actors, your producers, your directors, your screenwriters. In fact, you yourself can play all these roles, and/or if you know talented others to work along with you.

Exhibit your films first online. However, you can submit your films to the pros. To Sundance. To production companies and distributors.

However, the internet allows you to make and exhibit your films to an international audience of film enthusiasts, including filmmaker like yourself.

Digital software and movie making software helps you create all the special effects of the movie greats just using your home computer.

MyDVD 3 and VideoWave 5 and DVpics Plus are recommended by John R. Quain in his article, “How to Become a Filmmaker…at home” published in Popular Science Magazine popsci.com.

You can also find books on digital filmmaking at Amazon.com and at Barnes and Noble. Put “digital filmmaking” in their search engine.

No offense gebremichael, nobody cares about native movies or movies about a specific culture, just a waste of money and time.

wow Steves no offence to you either but that was a rather rude thing to say to gebremichael. if this is what he really wants to do then its obviously none of your business to put your two cents in and say that it is a waste of money and time. people do care about native movies and also movies about specific cultures. there have been many successful movies made about specific cultures and/or native movies so obviously you dont really know what your talking about.

It won\’t make you into Spike Lee but this Uni is setup with some serious kit. If you wanna be a Final Cut Editor this is a good place to start.
