How to Become a Successful Affiliate, and Work From Home, in 10 Easy Steps

In case you don’t know what an affiliate is, this is someone who promotes other people’s products via the Internet.

Rather than just sell one product, an affiliate can promote many products. By signing up to the Google AdSense Program, affiliates get paid every time someone on their site clicks an advertisement posted onto the website by Google.

Here are 10 steps to ensure you become a successful affiliate, and not just another wannabe rich someday sort of person.

Step 1. By all means, have a nice website, but let people know how to find it. No visitors? No Clicks! No income!

Step 2. The easiest way to create a one page site nowadays is to sign up to Blogger, which is owned by the grand masters of the Internet universe, Google.

I love Blogger as it is easy to create very nice looking one-page websites, plus there are loads of gadgets you can add to make it interesting for your visitors. Step 3. Once you have created a nice site, tried out a few templates, added a few widgets, be sure to tell people how to find you. On the Blogger Settings page, you will see a tab titled Site Feed – through that page see FeedBurner. This service publishes a site map so that Google can find your site, when they send out their robots on site watch patrol.

Step 4. Sign up to AdSense via Google, and place the AdSense bar on the right hand column high enough up the page so people can see and click onto the ads. Once signed up, Google will take a look at the content of your site and automatically place ads to maximise the likelihood of people clicking through to an ad. Once somebody clicks, they get directed to an advertiser’s website, to an advertiser who has bid the most amount of money to Google to get noticed through an advertising program called AdWords. Don’t be tempted to advertise your own site through AdWords unless you really know what you are doing, otherwise you could spend $20 advertising, and get $1 back in AdSense revenue. Why so little? Well, Google have to make a living somehow, how else do you make $21 Billion.

Step 5.
