How to Get The Best Tips

The waiter’s guide to getting the best tips.

These are some things that I love to tip highly for.  Be nice! Have a sweet and courteous personality.  Smile at your customers.  Do not bring your problems to work.  Most people dine out because they want a pleasant experience without all the hassle of clean up.  I am amazed at how many wait people have an attitude.  It is like they are doing you a favor by doing their job.  If you want a good tip be courteous, nice and respectful ever when your customer is not.  You may be the smile that they need to help them through the day.

Be the best at what you have chosen  to do.  Do not do anything half way.  Go out of the way to help other people.  God sees and knows your heart.  Do what it takes to go the extra mile with others.  Be sure to check back with your table to refill drinks.  Nothing is more aggravating than eating without something to drink.  Also do not spend too long at your table or visit back too often.  That can be just as aggravating.  They did not come into the restaurant to see you.  They came to be served and to have a nice meal.  It is a balance that a lot of wait people have never mastered and their meager tips are the tale tell signs of their work.

Be honest with your customers and do not promise something you can not deliver.  If you are struggling to meet your duties with all your tables, tell them your situation.  Most people are understanding if they know what is going on.  Do not look at your job as just a way to make money.  Find ways to be a blessing to those you come into contact with including your work mates and your boss.  God put us on this planet for a purpose.  Encouraging others is a calling and can give what you meaning.  Use it as a platform to help others with whatever form that may take.  Do things because it is the right thing to do and not just for what you can get out of it.

Follows these steps and watch your tips and enjoyment in your job increase.
