How to Survive When You are Unemployed
I have some strategies of my own to survive when I’m unemployed. I think it should help you some.
Everyone of us should meet this case once throughout our life. There are many ways to be unemployed. You can be unemployed when you are already finished your university study. Or you can be unemployed when you stop working for your old company and trying to find a better one.
When you meet the unemployment, you may feel a little scary if this is your first time, an experienced one will feel more stable than you. Because he knows what to do next, he has a strategy to survive until he has a new job and receives his monthly salary again.
I have some strategies of my own to survive when I’m unemployed. I think it should help you some.
1. How many days can you stand with your savings?
You need to check the amount of money that you have again. Then list the expenses that you have to pay everyday. You will know how many days you can survive. You can use money that you are received from unemployment insurance. But unemployment insurance is not exist and acceptable in all countries.
In this period of time, you need to identify which is necessary to pay for and which you can reject. You need to spend less money.
2. Can you get a new job within fifteen days?
Fifteen days is the safe limit for you. Although you have a new job, you have to work until the end of the month to receive your new salary. And that amount of money will be used to pay expenses next month. If you have a job later than fifteen days, the amount of money that you receive will be reduced and you will meet financial difficulties next month.
If you can not find a new job within fifteen days, let’s check the next strategies.
3. Find a part – time job to reduce the damage of unemployment
You can find some easy job that relate to your major to earn extra money. The extra money will help you survive longer.
There are many ways for you to make extra money. But don’t let your part time job becomes a full time job. You have to spend time to find a new job.
4. How many friends do you have? Can you borrow money from them?
Borrowing money from friends is not a good idea. But in case that you are empty with money, you have to have some friends who are ready to lend you money.
How much will you borrow from them? Exactly is a quarter of your new salary. It is a safe limit. If you borrow more, you have to have a longer time to pay back. So, a larger loan will have a deeper effect to your financial condition.
