It’s The Technicalities of It

I assumed that I could work in tech support.

I assumed that I could work in tech support but I found out it isn’t as easy as I thought.

It is a bit complicated if you hardly ever connect and reconnect your computer and especially if you don’t even know the meaning of such words as protocol or LAN or wan.  You know how they say that you don’t have to be a computer geek, well, I’m sorry but you do cause there are too many technical  things that you need to know to work in such a place.

I barely know how to send emails and everyone is staring at me cause I can’t get all the windows up and running at the same time and searching for info and talking on the phone and typing–all at once.

I’m lucky if I can get two windows up and copy and paste at the same time.  It really feels awkward that you start a search and you get to the search and everyone else went, searched, came back, and ready for another search with all their info already typed in and ready and I am still trying to find out what it is that we were searching for.

It is funny in a way, but not at work!  I get that.  I can get the point of technical support I just need time to learn it and be fast at it, and time they do not have.

So, I would not suggest to work at tech support if you don’t know what you are doing.  You should take a look at these people, they get lost in their own little world of technology.

That is what makes it all so interesting!

I’m afraid it wouldn’t work for me. I am certainly no geek and I consider taking a computer course but I haven’t yet.

Appreciating your commitment you put into your blog as well as detailed data you provide. Its nice to come upon a blog site every once in a while that’s not similar unwanted re-spun information. Wonderful article… We’ve bookmarked your blog post and I am including your Feed into Google address.

Have you ever thought about publishing an e-book or guest authoring on other blogs? I have a blog centered on the same information you discuss and would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my readers would enjoy your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an email.
