Make Time for Yourself
It’s the evening. Your work is done, the children are tucked up in bed and the dishes are all washed, dried and put away. What are you going to do with yourself? Slump in front of the TV? Although, that may seem like all you want to do after a hard day, it will do nothing for your energy levels.
You could spend your time, or at least some of it, unleashing your creativity and discovering something about yourself. I’m not talking about hours of self analysis and navel gazing, but interesting ways to get in touch with your subconscious. The benefits are enormous and it can be fun.
If you have never painted, you could give art therapy a go. It doesn’t matter if you are not particularly artistic, in fact it is probably better if you are not. Expressing yourself with paint can be both revealing and healing.
You could try dancing as a way of getting on touch with your innermost feelings and thoughts. It is also a great form of exercise and can be done alone or with your partner or friends.
Another brilliant way of unlocking your creativity and delving inside yourself, is through writing. Whether you choose the medium of poetry, fiction, or even just a diary, getting your thoughts down on paper can be really therapeutic.
You don’t have to spend the whole evening on these, unless of course you want to, just an hour or so ( or even as little as thirty minutes) is enough to see the benefits. Enjoy!
