Make Your Commute to Work Less Stressful

Make going to work more fun! Learn how to make your commute less stressful!

Is the process of going to work a chore for you? Do you constantly find yourself to be stressed out while travelling to the office? There are ways you can solve this problem. By reading this article, you will learn how to minimize your stress when you are commuting to your job.

One way you can minimize your stress when commuting to the office is to allow someone else to do the driving for you. If your place of work is located on a bus line, consider taking the bus to the office. If you are not a fan of riding buses but your company is located near a commuter train line, drive to the closest train station and ride the train the rest of the way. By riding the bus or train, you will relieve yourself of the stress that comes from driving, have more time to read or do work and become content knowing you are saving money on gasoline and the wear-and-tear that is placed on automobiles.

There is more you can do to reduce your mileage and gasoline expenses while helping to preserve the environment. Get together with up to four people who work in close proximity with you and take turns being the car pool driver. If you car pool with four others, you will only have to drive about once a week; furthermore, having somebody in your vehicle to talk to while you drive can reduce the amount of stress you experience.

Another thing you can do to make your commute to work less stressful is to give yourself more time to get to the office. If you live a half-hour’s drive away from work, leave out at least forty-five minutes before it is time to arrive so there is less of a chance you will be late if you encounter heavy traffic. You could also consider taking a route that is less traveled than the one you are used to taking.

Attempt to make your drive to work soothing. Listen to music and relaxation tapes you like.

Do everything you can to prevent having road rage and being a target of it. If another driver does something you do not like, let it go because you increase your stress when you get upset and you should never let little things bother you. Do not cut or flip other drivers off.

You can make your commute less hectic by not driving dangerously. Pull over if your cell phone rings or you must make a call. Never text while driving.

Try to only have good thoughts while driving to your job. Think about good experiences you have had recently.

Follow these steps to minimize your stress while commuting to work!
