No Money for Unemployment? Then Cut Off Welfare Too!

This is truly shameful…

The government has once again let down the unemployed. They went off on vacation without agreeing to extend benefits. They are playing games with people’s lives and don’t seem to have a second thought about it. It is both the Democrats and the Republicans, working in unison, to create chaos (like usual). The dems filled the bill with other garbage, knowing the repubs would say, no way. They are making a mockery of America and then running off to their luxurious vacation homes.

Whats worse than this? The division I’m seeing in this country over the matter. It seems that the people who are lucky enough to have their jobs still, don’t give a crap about their fellow unemployed Americans. Little do they know, they are next. As soon as the companies find a way to fire these people, and replace them with the currently unemployed for a dollar less per hour, they will. Just wait. What goes around comes around.

Why is it that everyone is against people receiving unemployment, but they will turn a blind eye to the people sucking down welfare? You have to be let go of your job through no fault of your own to receive unemployment. NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN. How is it possible that this very important fact has escaped so many people? I have been on unemployment before, and I guess it could be possible to work the system, if you tried really hard, but it would not be easy and very few would get away with it. I’ve been on both sides of the fence, and I understand how the unemployment system works.

Regardless of the reason for losing a job, employers automatically fight it, hoping the person will give up instead of going through the interview or appeal process. What I am getting at, is that not only do you have to be let go, through no fault of your own, you have to convince the people at the unemployment office of this, while your employer says whatever they are legally allowed to say, to stop you from receiving benefits. Why do I know this? Well, for one, I’ve been on unemployment and for two, I have worked in accounting, one cubical away from the human resources person, whose job it is to fight unemployment claims against the company. It is literally their job duty. Also, my mother is a Controller and has had jobs, where this was her job. These are facts.
