Process of Job Analysis
It involves the following steps:-
a) 1) Collecting and recording job information.
b) 2) Checking job information for accuracy.
c) 3) Writing job description based on job information.
d) 4) Using information to determine the skills, abilities, and knowledge that are required for job.
e) 5) Updating information from time to time.
Process of Job Analysis:-

- Strategies-
It is basis for organizational objectives it includes-
1) 1) Extent of employee involvement in job analysis.
2) 2) Level of details of Job Analysis.
3) 3) Timing & frequency of analysis.
4) 4) Past oriented / Future oriented.
- Collection of Information-
It consists of information from organization charts, class specification, & existing job description. Organization charts tells the relationship of job with other jobs in the organization.
Class specification- General requirement of the class of job to which this particular job belongs.
- Selection of Representative position to be analyzed-
It would be too difficult and too time consuming and to analyze all jobs so job analyst has to select some of the representative’s position to analyze them.
- Collection of Job Analysis data-
Analyzing a job by collecting data on features of job, required employee behavior, and human requirement.
- Developing Job Description-
Describing the content of the job in the terms of function, duties, responsibilities, operations etc
The important is expected to discharge the duties and responsibilities and operations and functions listed in job description.
Developing Job specification:-
Conversion of the job description statement into the job specification. It describes personal activity trades, skills, knowledge, and background necessary for getting job done.
Job Analysis Information-
1) 1) Job Identification- Includes title, code no. etc of job.
2 2) Asignification characteristic of Job- It includes location, characteristics, physical setting supervision, union jurisdiction, hazards, and discomforts.
