Restaurant Service
How we get treated and how we should be treated at our local restaurants.

Do we work hard and work long hours just to go to a restaurant and get bad service and still have to pay for it? How many times would you say that you go out to restaurants weekly? How many people don’t go out to restaurants at all? I would say that most people tend to go out to eat quite frequently. Many people these days don’t have the time or patience to eat at home. Eating at home involves a lot of work. You have to go to the grocery store often, you have to come home and put the groceries away, set the table, prepare the food, serve the food, wash the dishes and have to put them away sometimes with little or no help. Sometimes, it can get frustrating. People come home after a long day at work or people may have to stay at home with the kids all day and want to leave. Some people want to relax and have a nice evening out without having to worry about cooking dinner and washing dishes, right?
Well, people go out to dinner usually at a local restaurant or maybe even somewhere new and they expect and deserve good service and good food. We don’t work all day for nothing. We work to pay bills and keep everything going for the family. We don’t make money just to go out to dinner and waste it on nothing. If we are going to spend our money we want to spend it in a good way such as good food and service.
It seems to me that every time my family and I go out to eat which is very often that we get horrible service or our food is horrible or not cooked right. Here is a prime example of what we go through very often and shouldn’t have to:
My family and I enter a local restaurant and we walk up to the hostess stand. We stand there for a few minutes and there are the hostesses right in front of us chatting about what they are going to do after work. We have to interrupt their conversation just to ask to get seated. Then one of them would look at us and say, “HI! Do you want to be seated? Hold on a minute.” So, we stand there for a few more moments and then they walk us to a table in a corner. I say, “Excuse me can we please have a booth. “ The hostess said “Why didn’t you just tell me that up front?” My husband and I just look at each other. I reply back, “You didn’t ask where we wanted to sit and you walked off before we could say anything.” So, we finally get seated and then we wait fifteen minutes for a server. When the server arrives, the server says, “What do you want to drink?” So, instead of greeting us nicely and asking how we are doing the server demands what we want to drink. That is already bad service. Our drinks come out and then we order. We don’t see the server again until our food is coming out. We have been without drinks for 20 minutes and no one has come by to check on us. We ask the server for a refill and the server says, “I will get them when I can it will be about ten minutes I have to get these tables orders.”
