Stay Happy At Work

Work is something we all experience. It can be the long and mind-numbing eight hour shifts or it can even be the short four hours that feel like eternity.

In addition to a proper diet, positive thinking is a great way to put one in a happy mood. The first step is to just take a breath. Stop worrying and just pause for a second and take that breath of joy. A breath of joy is very easy; stand with your feet together and your arms at your sides. Next, inhale deeply, then exhale laughter and bend forward. Try to do this movement 10 times. This will put your mind at ease and help you get a quick brake from the worries and problems that are lingering in the brain. Another great idea is to leave all the problems at home. This is work, so try to focus on your duties and responsibilities. Leave all the thoughts about the fight that you had with your spouse last night at home. You come to work, to a different world, where you should relax and do what you love to do. Also, in order to have positive thinking, make sure your work area is organized. For example, what happens when you can not find those very important documents that you had to forward to you boss last week? Stress is the answer. So in order to avoid stressful situations, try to keep your work space clean and organized.

The last step to achieve a happy attitude at work is to reward yourself. Rewards will keep one looking forward to something. So set up a dinner, or a movie, with a friend or a loved one, and add a little of variety in your life. This will take your thoughts off your busy work schedule and stress. Also, do not forget to have a social life. Try to meet as many new people as possible. This will always put one in a happy mood because one can never have too many friends. Knowing a lot of people also boosts up the self esteem because one will not feel alone or out of place. Lastly, do not forget to pamper yourself. Go out with your girlfriends to a spa and treat yourself to a pedicure or a nice massage. But remember that pampering does not mean spending lots of cash. And do not go out of your way to treat everyone to it; just have a little fun to spice up your life. So buying yourself a new shirt or a new outfit is like a doggie treat that you deserve for all that hard work you do. In the end, remember that having something to look forward to during the week will help to make it more bearable.

In conclusion, gaining a happy attitude at work involves three major steps: a proper diet, positive thinking, and rewarding yourself. Proper diet and nutrition of food, water, sleep, and exercise are not only good for your body, but also put a positive thought in your mind that you can over come any challenges. Positive thinking involves taking a breath of joy, leaving your problems at home, and of course organization. Rewarding yourself consists of setting up a fun activity on the day off, improve your social life, and pamper yourself with special treats. Most important, never take that gorgeous smile of your face to show how really happy you are at work.
