Ten Bad Reasons to Quit Your Job

Common reasons why people quit their jobs and why they are mistakes.

Top ten bad reasons to quit your job

If you have a job and want to quit at least have a good reason for it.  It’s tough out there and if you go into the ranks of the unemployed you may be there for a long time.  But if you feel that you have to quit and the reasons are on the list below, it’s not a good idea.

   1. The boss is a creep.
Here’s a good rule to remember: all bosses are creeps. If you have a boss that’s a nice guy chances are he’s mismanaging the place and letting people like yourself have a run on the operation.  The place where you had a good boss didn’t pay enough or went out of business.

   2. The job is below your capabilities.
You’re still there aren’t you?  The only way you will ever get out of that miserable place is if you get a call to work somewhere else that’s suited to your talents the following Monday.  Barring that   stay where you really belong.

  3. The job is too hard.
 Sissy!

  4. I don’t get along with my co-workers.
If you don’t get along with one person that’s a personality conflict.  No problem, stay away from that person.  If two people it’s because the one co-worker has a buddy and they both think alike, stay away from both.  If three or more people don’t like you then you’re the jerk of the place and it’s been verified through the democratic process.  Another job is just another place to spread the word.

 5. This place is so dysfunctional.
That’s because it’s chaotic.  It’s chaotic because it’s trying to handle a lot of volume.  It has a lot of volume because they produce something a bunch of people want and there is a less than perfect rush to get the product out.  That’s a sign of job security and periodic raises.  Go work for a place that’s not so busy and see where that gets you.

6. Too much stress.
I like to say refer to number 3.  Alright I’ll say it, refer to number 3.  The reason for this is that you are a type of person who thinks that you become stressful and say things like “I’m under a lot of stress”.   You’re a poor injured person looking for sympathy and understanding and most of all lookinf for excuses for being such a shit to everyone around you.

7.  They’re trying to get rid of me.
No one above you cares about you or what you do providing you do your job.  Otherwise you would be fired.  Nobody tries to get rid of anyone they just sit you down and say “you’re fired”.

8. I’m tired of doing everyone else’s job.
Well don’t.  Now you’re thinking the only reason you do is because the boss tells you to do it.  You know what, the job that you think is someone else’s at that point is actually yours.

9. I’ll show them.
Let’s see; you think that if you left the place everything will fall apart at the seams.  The fact is if you left the operation will do just fine and the people higher up will forget you the second you leave.

10. Not enough money.
If you quit then that gets you even more money?  Do the math: your pay is equal or less than zero.  I’ll let you use a calculator.  You are what you get paid.  When you’re out of a job because you quit  you become a zero.

Some of the most capable & effective people I’ve met are “nice guys” not creeps and in this list John Talleos is ignoring the politics of the work place that most if not all adults have encountered.

Either John Talleos is more of a moron then I think possible or he is a liar with delusions of grandeur who thinks of himself as being in authority.

I’ve read some of John Talleos’ articles and wondered if he was doing a parody of Conservative politics or if he was merely self-important and not very bright.

However I do want to thank John Talleos because when ever I need a good laugh I can always rely on him to be a total buffoon.

It is pure conjecture on my part but I would say this, anyone seeing themselves anywhere on this list would do well to remember one thing, “ On matter where you go, there you are!” Yes as in YOU!, ones self, me myself and I, I reiterate because, in all likelihood, if you see yourself on that list your probably missing the point!

Boy, I wish I had read this a year ago. You are good at list writing; a gift of sorts.
