Ten Most Dangerous Jobs in America

These are the ten most dangerous jobs in America and the dangers in their jobs.

1. Logger

A logger is the guy that cuts down the trees even though years ago they didn’t have the machinery that they have today. Even modern loggers will tell you that it is a very dangerous job even with the new technology it is just as or even more so dangerous. Loggers are at the bottom of the hill hooking the trees onto a line that drags them up the hill. If one was to come loose it could trigger a land slide of felled trees or simply bounce down the hill out of control.

2. Pilot

A pilot has the second most dangerous job in America he/she is responsible for all the lives on board as well as his own. If something were to go wrong in the sky everyone depends on him to save their lives. This is a dangerous job because things do go wrong on flights and he is the only one on board that can help.

3. Fisherman

Fishermen have to braze the bearing sea in all conditions surrounded by water that would happily take their lives. Not only are the storms the danger but everything down to storing the fish in the hull is too. You hear of men being swept overboard by a wave and never to be seen again. A fisherman is never safe until he’s on dry land.

4.Iron and Steel Worker

An iron and steel worker are the men you see hanging off the side of a skyscraper tying steel before concrete is poured. The death factor in this job is huge the higher they go the more they get paid. The crane driver sitting swaying in the wind above these men is also known as steel worker he lifts the steel into place. A gust of wind could take a whole work crew off the edge. This is a very dangerous job.

Farmers get killed every year on farms with farm equipment. Farm equipment itself has been deemed dangerous on its own it doesn’t have to always have to be due to negligence. The threat facing them getting charged by cattle is always there, they could crush you against a wall either. A farmers job is difficult and dangerous.

6. Roofer

These workers work on bell towers of churches and roof’s on skyscrapers and are prone to danger all the time an unfinished roof is the most dangerous place you could be. Putting the roof together can be dangerous because of the threat of swinging Apex knocking you off the roof or dragging you off the side.

7. Garbage Collector

The bin man who would of thought, the bin man is more dangerous than it ever was before with all the lifts the trucks have. There is a fear of them getting squashed by a falling bin, falling into the crusher or falling off the truck, all the way until the truck is emptied. A bin man is never safe until he goes home.

8. Electrician

An electrician has to deal with electricity one of the most dangerous sources known to man. It ranks down here at number eight because they are trained professionals. It would be foolish to go near electricity untrained. But this job still ranks up in the top ten.

9. Truck Driver

Loads of truck drivers loose their lives on the roads each year, some over worked, some just plain accidents and others where someone crashes into them it could pull the truck apart. Even though they are big machines they are very fragile when they are moving a simple swerve could wreck a truck.

10. Taxi Driver

A taxi driver is under constant attack on the streets of America some people would just shoot them and take their money rather than pay them. Taxis are being stolen and held for ransom by gangs of the streets they usually leave the driver in a bad way when they hi jack them.

A nice paean of praise for the workers. I’m a little confused by #3. I think there’s a typo in there somewhere. Otherwise, great article.

I would Put Fireman,Nightclub Bouncer or Police officer down also..
Above Truck driver,Roofer or Garbage Collector

Taxi Driver would be higher up my list also

Bouncers often end up in fights with civilians that are out of there minds on drugs or alcohol.. sometimes several times in a week & have to laid down the law with people that can always be reasoned with..

Police have to put there lives on the line everyday fighting crime.. & are probably & many of them die protecting the public & upholding the law..

FireFighter should be at the top, they go inside burning building to save people
