Effective Collaboration With Others Will Ensure Success.

                                The Principle Of Synergy

                                                By Abundant Robert AWOLUGUTU

I make progress by having people around me who are smarter than I am-and listening to them. And I assume that everyone is smarter about something than I am.

                                                -Henry Kaiser (Successful Industrialist)

In his book “Secrets of Super Achievers” Philip Baker wrote: “More and more, great leaders of our day find the best way to work is to work through people, to build teams and to develop synergy.”

The LONGMAN Dictionary of Contemporary English defines synergy as follows: “technical the additional effectiveness when two or more companies or people combine and work together.” Goal accomplishment always requires team effort.

The principle of synergy has always worked for those who cared to employ it. Jesus Christ did an excellent job while on this planet earth. He did not do it alone but teamed up with others. You must work with people who believe in your dream, your vision and your mission. Their expertise should complement your own.

Bringing likeminded people on board to work with requires discernment. Before Jesus recruited the apostles to help him in His ministry, He committed everything to God in prayer.

“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles:” (Luke 6: 12-13)

Recruitment is an important exercise that must not be left to chance. We must follow the example of Christ and ask God to help us choose the right people to work with.  This will ensure that our plans succeed.
