Things to Do When You are Bored at Work
If you are even reading this, there might be an indication that you are indeed bored at work.
Occasionally, when you are at work, you may have some free time off work. And that might set you wondering what you can do to kill your boredom. You may want to try out one or many of the things to do before if that ever happens and remember, they are not meant to be in sequence or order. However, if you do have more suggestions, do feel free to add on to the list.
- Clean your table
Did you ever know that eating and working at your desk can make you sick? In fact, your desk can have hundreds of times more bacteria than an office toilet. Therefore, take the opportunity to clean your table thoroughly.
- Take a breather
Take a toilet break or even, a coffee break. To add on to that, you may even like to stretch out the ached muscles from sitting for too long.
- Check out your calendar
Make full use of that calendar sitting on your table by checking out the holidays for the year and plan your annual leave accordingly.
- Sort out your emails
If you have been procrastinating to sort your emails, what better time to do it than now? Do not forget to look into your various folders and check them to see if there are emails that should not be there in the first place.
- Trash the junk
If you have cleaned your table as per the suggestion above, by now, you would have loads of junk to clear. And if you realised you haven’t had that much, maybe you are not looking hard enough. Now, even look at your drawers, there may be things lying in there that has been unused for a long time. If you have not even been using them or even recall how the things get there in the first place, that is a big sign to throw the unnecessary things away.
- Read newspaper online
Keep yourself updated with the latest news of the day by reading newspapers online like msn.com etc and many more without the people around you hearing the flipping of newspaper.
- Plan a holiday
According to your checks on the calendar earlier, you found out that you have quite a few days or even weeks to spare for a holiday. Now is indeed a good time to start researching on where you want to go according to your budget and availability.
Now, whoever said that you will get bored at work? If you say this after reading and doing all the suggestions above, I guess you will definitely have to find a job that will not make you free at work.
