Torture Shop

A woman trying to keep her job, that forgot to cover herself.

I loved my job, and I was good at it. Never understood, why I had to fight to keep it for seven years. No, one ever gets the chance to tell their story. Surely, mine was no different from anyone else’s. Everyone has complaints in their positions, working for nothing. I

Stayed in trouble, and during the fights for my rights, I forgot to cover my butt.

I was so tired of being in the white man’s office. You’d have to walk in my shoes, to understand. I started in housekeeping seven years ago. This was the only position they had available. I never expected to be stuck there. My supervisor, never liked me. because I let her know I wasn’t going to let her run over me.

What made this occur?

From the beginning I was called into the office, accused of having a penis lighter. While other co-workers had lighters that had breast, I did but it was in my pocket and I used it during my break. I was told to never bring it again to work. But while filing a grievance, I was told that I could carry anyone I wanted.

From there I was called into the office, and told that the walls have ears. Meaning that I needed to watch what I said to people.

All I was doing was housekeeping, and my boss thought she was my momma. Cornered in the hallway, and told to stay from the other supervisor, who worked under her. When we wore purple, I was met at the time clock and told not to ever wear my purple shoes which matched. By then, I figure that this lady had it out for me.

I was then held back from every job, I applied for. This was done by her best friends in human resources. I was blackballed. No one director ever received a job bid, from me because they were never sent out. I remember, one time I bid on a job, on a Sunday and it was rejected on that same Sunday. Now, one wonders how this is possible? Anything is possible when you were employed there. Even though I am gone, I am a little afraid to give there name, so we’ll just call it the torture shop. Because, I believe I was tortured there.

I was wrote up for having a cup in my had 10 minutes before break. When I filed grievance, she was told I could of taken some medicine when ever I wanted. One time I called in sick, and went to get my medicine at Wal-mart, I saw a supervisor off duty who called in to the job. And reported seeing me, I was suspended. I had to fight again, she was told I had the right to go to the store.
