Work

The work has been a culture for the people in general. To work is the habit and practice of the human being. Some animals other than the human being also perform some work which is their basic need. The other animal does work just by their inborn capabilities. Different birds build their nests themselves. For this, they do not have any training or education. They do just in a natural manner. Different birds build their nests in different patterns and processes. It is quite natural. The people in the ancient time used to live in the jungle in different modes like living in the cave, the tall trees etc. As a man is superior to other animals in terms of mental powers, therefore it can develop every mode of work. Actually we work to live. Some activities like sleeping, eating food, drinking water, walking, traveling etc. are not understood as to be work.

The activities which we do for earning livelihood and also for maintaining a standard in the society are understood as work. Most of us do jobs in the (companies, factories, industries, farms) for maintaining our financial needs. So, these jobs are our work. People use to play games and sports for getting amusement and also to keep the health and mind in a sound state. But these are not understood to be our work. But if some labourers are working to cleanse a cricket field then it may be said as work, because they will earn wages by doing so. We work for a number of purposes. It is already said that eating something is not a work, but the cultivators work in the field for cultivation for producing food items, and then it is a work. The cook prepares food in the kitchen, it is also a work.

However the work we perform in different ways are referred to be our culture. Different people do different things or activities. Some people do some sorts of activities traditionally as their source of earning livelihood. In the ancient time the son used to follow the work of his father and maintain the family in the same manner. The work of making ornaments of the goldsmith is not same with the work of a blacksmith. In terms of household matters, most of the people are seen to perform some common work.
