Working 20 Hours a Day Every Day

If you want to become like Qi Lu, the head of Bing search engine, you really need to read this first.

If you are an independent worker you might find this article very interesting. Before that make sure you read this .

The first thing you need to do is to find all the enthusiasm you can in your job. It’s not a perfect job but at least is an honorable job. Find joy in every aspect of your job.

With the first part done now just work on your physical stamina. You will need a lot to handle the 20 hour a day work time. This part is very hard tough.

To take care of your body I would recommend you the 100m running. It does not take too much time, plus the energy you unleash in every run will shape your body like no other exercise can.

Nutrition is the next step. You should include some vitamins in your diet specially in the beginning just to make sure your body has enough of everything in the adaptation period.

Now work on your office. It needs to be as much comfortable as you can make it. Fluffy chair, the right screen, at the right position, comfortable mouse and keyboard, no distractions.

The lunch time and dinner time should not exceed the half an hour.

You do not need to stop the work to rest like you are recommended to everywhere, you just need to change some works, instead of typing you could be moving some papers you have in your office to rest your eyes.

Forget about email and instant messaging. I only check my email once every two days now and you should do the same. Or check it once in the morning and once in the evening. Really urgent situations should be handled by mobile phone, instead of partial conversations such as email or the attention consuming IM.

How long will you handle this way of work? Qi Lu of Bing that works for Microsoft only sleeps three hours a week and can handle this working pace easily. He has a wife and the lovely kids. Thomas Edison only slept four hours a night.

Is this bad for your health? Half of the doctors say yes, the other half no.

Dale Carnegie made an experiment with students and the ones with boredom where much more likely do develop diseases (very quickly!) than those who were very excited in their jobs but with little sleep! He made the experiment with students.
