Working Abroad: It’s Not The Hard Work That Makes It Hard
Just a little insights… and i’m proud to say this is based on my own experience.
Let me tell you first the bright side about working abroad. Obviously you’re in a different country, sounds great, you may see the places which others only see on pictures/TVs. sounds cool,, something you can boast when you’re back home?! In addition to this, of course is the salary, that’s the reason why people tend to work abroad. If we can earn such salary in our homeland, forget the thoughts of going abroad. I would say those are some good things with working abroad. But Newton’s law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and there goes the other side, the not so good side. Again “working abroad” definitely away from your family and people important to you. You want to provide them good life and in order to do so you need to work hard. It’s not the heavy works that makes it real hard but the truth that after a day’s work you’re still in your workplace. You’re not going elsewhere. You’re not going home to have dinner with your family, watch your favorite TV series or movies with them before going to bed, etc etc. Sounds real sad. Because you’re away, you’ll miss their birthdays and they’ll miss yours and other special occasions which would have been happier if you were there. But that’s life, you need to decide whether the salary you are earning would compensate for the time you are losing. At the end of the day it’s “YOU” and the question “IS IT WORTH IT?”
PS: this is not a way to discourage you to work abroad, just want to remind you that it’s not a good profession. Maybe just a start-up, after earning enough try to put up a small business.
