Working as a Free Agent
Don’t know what to do in your free time? Wish to be more productive? Wish you could make more money in that spare time? Read it all here on how and what you can do to make that work!
As a busy person (Either busy studying for your exams or working all morning till afternoon), you can barely find the time nor energy left to do anything for the rest of your day.. Err, I meant for the rest of the evening. So what can you do to make more money if you do not have the time? Well here are some examples below as to how make more money during your evenings. It’s called being a freelancer or a “Free Agent”. The term was made by Azizi Ali from the millionaireplanet.com. (Besides, hanging out you can actually be as productive at night.)
- Do part-time sales - If you had notice, there’s plenty of job openings for salespeople. So why not apply for one and work at night? It’s a good way to spend your time and who knows, you might get a decent commission while you’re at it. Though I’m not sure about some companies around here in Brunei, could actually accept someone who works for another company during the day and do sales at night. And I highly doubt that you can actually make any money this way. But if you do or did find any night salesperson working at night, let me know which company they are working for. So that I can include them as an example to be working for. Still doing this is better than hanging out. :P
- Being a part-time custodian - I’ll let that name “custodian” sink into your mind. It’s a cool name, ain’t it? Well be rest assured, that’s a professional name for a janitor. Some find that a janitor’s job is lucrative and not everyone wants to do that job. So usually, the job goes to the foreigners. It’s common in every business since they couldn’t find anyone else to do the job. And since it’s minimum wage, its kinda worth spending your nights at least.
- Be a freelancer of your own to other companies - This is what the Americans (or after watching Scrubs on DVD) call Moonlighting. The term’s definition is having a second (untaxed) job besides having a first job. Now it’s illegal to some or most countries/companies because of the employer to employee contract that implies that you cannot use your services nor skills to work for another company. Since the employers get the fear that they’re employee will bring poor performance the next day on the job. Also, employers are afraid that you might give away some confidential information to the public. But if you’re working for another company with different skills and uses less of your time and effort at it, it could be worth considering and it’s found legal to do as well.
- Run a night business - Now some people find this discouraging to people’s lives but it’s not so bad. Running a night business is just as normal as running any business in the day. Except the business would either be extremely slow or fast depending on it’s nature. Now if you do your research carefully, you might be able to make it a successful night business. One good example of a night business idea would be selling fast food like chips, burgers, hot dogs, food for those people who would hang out at your place instead.
- Work online - Now I did a lot of Internet Marketing lately, and I’ve noticed that you can get paid after doing certain and specific actions on the Internet. But then from my experiences, there are those sites who are found to be scams and sometimes just a waste of your time and effort for you to make money. Some just say “Refer us with your referral link : www.theirsite.com/ref?something.php=codes” which I find annoying a few years back. There are all kinds of work that can be paid online but I’ve never heard any Bruneians (or any of my circle of friends) who ever made anything out of it though. Still need further researching and I’ll see if I can find anything that can be considered legit and so that you won’t have to waste your time for.
