Working with Companies That Do Not Know How to Write Correct Descriptions for Projects
Unfortunately as of late it would seem that many companies and individuals that do indeed have the heavy task of writing the project descriptions, do not seem to be able to provide the people that they wish to do the job with some of the more basic details.
I, like many self employed individuals across the UK rely on the descriptions given to me by my clients. Unfortunately as of late it would seem that many companies and individuals that do indeed have the heavy task of writing the project descriptions, do not seem to be able to provide the people that they wish to do the job with some of the more basic details.
For various reasons I refuse to work with some content management systems, as I find them to be rather over-complicated for the purpose that they were designed. Recently I was contacted by an individual who needed a job completed rather quickly, and provided me with the bare minimum of details. Unfortunately she forgot to tell me that she ran her website off one of the aforementioned content management systems. After my spending a week looking over the guide for the system she wished to integrate, and then exposing the fact that she was indeed running one of the said content management systems. It left me with having spent a week deciphering installation and integration guides, as well as ensuring that I would be able to code the required functions.
So all us self employed providers ask, is that when you are writing a project description you follow some simple rules.
- List all of the software currently being used to deliver the project
- Establish time requirements for the project
- Establish how you would like to have the project delivered
- Establish whether or not you need the project to be kept entirely confidential.
